When our agency partner approached us to help bring this blood donation campaign to life, we knew the message needed to be immediate, human, and unforgettable. The campaign was anchored around a single, powerful statistic: every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. That idea became our guiding light for the entire project, from concept through final animation.
Rather than illustrating the statistic literally, we wanted viewers to feel how fast two seconds passes in everyday life. Our concept focused on small, familiar moments, those blink-and-you-miss-them actions that make up a morning routine. Turning off an alarm clock. Pouring milk into coffee. Placing toothpaste on a toothbrush. Answering a text. Feeding a dog. Zipping up a jacket.
By framing the story through the eyes of a single person, we grounded the message in real life. The rhythm of these moments helped define the pacing and emotional beats of the animation, constantly reminding the viewer how quickly time moves, and how, in that same fleeting moment, someone else is relying on the generosity of a blood donor.
Our process moved from storyboards to animatics, illustrations, and final animation, with sound effects and music reinforcing the tempo of time passing. The result transforms an abstract statistic into a deeply personal call to action.
